I am sorely reminded of Warhammer 40K's Navis Nobilite clans when I see this (genetically engineered-hereditary spaceship navigators with all the weirdness that implies). When you look into the Warp, the Warp looks back, and seeing as how the 40K universe is Crapsack turned up to eleven...
