I love James Jean, he's my favorite artist ever. But his film thing (he was just the concept artist) is horrible, they totally bastardized his work with poor animation and modeling and texturing. It looks like a bad gradfilm. WHY!! How can you make such gorgeous work look WRONG?! *cries*His conceptart:

they really should have tried to make it look like his drawings TT_TT when I look at them I am so much more inspired in terms of movement and atmosphere than by the actual film.
I feel like they just used that 3D-celshade look as an easy way out (though I'm sure it could work if pulled through right...) they didn't understand any of the subtleties that make his work beautiful. (the colors an her *legs*... ugh)
And yeah, the models look terrible and move terrible :/
It seems like 3D still has a long way to go :/
