Bric a brac

Mon Mar 22, 2010, 9:04 PM
Ok, finally settled (sorta) in my apartment in Montreal.  I really wish there was an ikea close by I could get to!  It's brand new so it kinda has that freshly cut wood and drywall stench.  Crazy lady at the post office refuses to let me change my goddamn postal address, driving me nuts.

God of war 3 is amazing, even if the game play and move set is identical to the way it was like 5 years ago when the first one came out.  I really liked the way they handled the cut scenes this time around, with the greek patterns and vase look...made the game feel somehow authentic...sort of.  Heavy rain next I suppose! Think I'll skip final fantasy, I can't give a shit about those kind of characters anymore. (Yes I realize God of War is essentially the western equivalent of extreme Japanese anime style but .....whatever!)

New job is exciting, building is massive so I get lost a lot and carry my keycard around my neck like a total noob.  Anyone know of any good life drawing sessions in this city? (close to the Plateau, preferably?)

I am going to Montreal next Saturday for a little vacation with my mother, checking out art galleries and going drinking. Hear of any cool places since you've moved in? I assume you haven't had any time, but I thought I'd ask.

I'm sure it is still very cold, but probably not as cold as it is here in Nova Scotia being next to the ocean. So I will take whatever weather I get (:

There are 2 IKEA, but nowhere close by, really. There's one in Boucheville (suburbia town on the south shore) and another near Décarie blvd (in the middle western part of town, but rather high up).
If you drive, you could check out CommunAuto, a car location system which lets you rent cars by the hour for cheap. Mostly Yaris and Echo, so you can't fit much.

Life drawing? Most Uni have some, but there are also Dr. Sketchy's once a month with a burlesque theme. Just look up Dr. Sketchy Montreal.

Also, beer time anytime, bud! :D

Hope everything is going well.
