Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine  that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam  deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.
I know this is a no-duh for 90% of people reading it but for the sake of the rest lets revise what we all should know about online phishig. And before you go all:

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Moving!

Thanks for all the laptop advice, everyone! Very helpful.  I needed one cause I'm moving to Montreal in a few weeks, I was lucky enough to land a really sweet gig there.  Any Montrealia...ns...up in here?  I'm gonna really miss Vancouver, I grew to love it way too much.  Onwards and upwards or something or whatever.

Since I'm  heading east I had to give up my table at Emerald City con, which sucks cause I really was looking forward to actually having a proper table at an actual con for once!  Are there any cool cons in Quebec I wonder? At least new york is pretty close by.

Time to listen to the Canucks and finish up some freelance.

you gonna be free at all thursday? me and kyle are going to the russia game that night, but will be around town that afternoon watching the canada game and drifting...maybe taking in some free music...join us! i'll be around friday too for the sweden game, but i dont know kyle's plans.

Well it suck to here that your leaving Vancouver but Ubisoft Montreal is one of the coolest places for a game concept artist, I bet your going to to do great there. Have fun dude!

As for cons... hah. There are a few, but more likely than not, they're not all that lucrative for up and coming artists.
There's Expozine for indie press. There Comic-Con (I sold 1 magnet there... wow). Now there's Under the Snow which is very related to music, and especially post-rock/indie rock. There's also GeekFest starting out in march if I remember correctly. It's starting to get better. Then there's the 6 to 8 hours drive to get to Toronto for that big-ass 4-con convention in August.
