agreed. though i still play it and enjoy it a lot, but i literally took ages to create a decent looking chara.
what i don't get about Bethesda works is they have great concept arts and ideas but the way it's implemented usually leaves a lot to wish.. ESPECIALLY character models and animations. I mean, honestly, both Morrowind and Oblivion suffered from it. Both games started to look decent when fan made mods came out. I secretly hoped something will change in Fallout 3, but no.
Someone called it "Oblivion with guns" and that's how it looks to me. A bit better looking and better designed, but still.
I've seen some concept art from FO3 and it looked cool to me. However, I will say Oblivion wasn't nearly as good as Marrowind. Morrowind had a unique look and it was fun to explore. Oblivion was very gerneric-fantasy LOTR ripoff look to it and looks all the same so it's nowhere near as rewarding to explore.
Wow so yes the animation is the suck, you'd think the guys at Bethesda could get a walk cycle right but no. The character de and Level design "however" is some of best of seen in any game out right now so far. I don't know what your talking about there. My complaint is the quests, there cookie cutter A to B and some are flat out stupid. Get radiated and come back so I can study you. WTF? what happened to the back stabbing double crosses you could pull in the first two? oh ya Bethesda made this one and it should be called "Fallout Scrolls" but any who this is really cutting into my playing time.

Still, compared to Oblivion they're improved upon, and that's something. For some people though, it's not enough and if you really can't get around it then maybe the game isn't worth playing for you.
Me, I waited ages for new Fallout and while it's not Black Isle it's better than nothing.
the third person sucks, lack of feeling, doesn't interest me in the slightest. Looks like they're relying on the success of the franchise, and glorified bloodcount to get ahead, the fact that you can see a head expode in such great detail does not appeal to me, I thought we got past that stage a long time ago, when there are so many huge fps's already out there, I can't see this doing so well, lots of copies ending up on ebay cheap very soon methinks
